A Palatka resident has been accused of stabbing a man earlier this week after first threatening him with a BB gun, authorities said.

Authorities arrested Timothy Deshaun Sharon, 29, and charged him with aggravated battery, according to a Palatka Police Department incident report. He was also charged with numerous misdemeanors for failure to appear, one of which denied bond.

The fracas occurred around 1:10 p.m. Monday in the Rosa K. Ragsdale Community, authorities said.

A female witness told police officers she and the victim had been standing in front of their apartment when Sharon pulled to the front of their apartment on a brown and orange bicycle, the incident report states.

The police department heavily redacted witness and victim information on its incident report, which does not clearly differentiate between witness accounts.

The woman said Sharon was holding a firearm that looked like a long, black rifle, the report said. Authorities said a witness said Sharon “pointed the firearm” at a witness at the scene and “made threats to shoot them.”

A witness also stated she went inside the apartment to take the child she had been holding into safety. When she returned outside, Sharon and the victim were in a physical altercation, authorities said.

“Tim was pushed to the ground where he then pulled out an orange and silver kitchen knife and stabbed (the victim) in the back three times,” the report states.

Witness descriptions of the altercation differ, with another witness stating the victim was stabbed just two times. The other witness showed a video of the fight to officers, who reported seeing the victim stabbed two times, the report says.

After the stabbing, Sharon left the scene and headed north on Ragsdale Drive, a witness told the police. The report does not specify if Sharon left on his bicycle but officers collected blood swatches from Sharon’s bike when they reported to the scene, according to the police department.

The victim was taken to HCA Florida Putnam Hospital to treat his injuries. No further information about the victim’s condition was available Wednesday.
