Gibson Wright

Gibson Wright Sr. was born to Bennie Wright and Carrie Hankins Wright on October 10, 1940, in St. Augustine, Florida. His life was all about fixing cars and having junk. He enjoyed cooking and could do it better than most. He enjoyed family and friends and was a great husband, dad, and grandaddy.

In addition to his parents, Gibson was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Wright; brothers, Willie, Bennie, Jepus, and Charlie Wright; and sisters, Margaret and Edith.

He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Debra Page, Barbara (Junior) Whitmore, Elizabeth Oliver (Ron), Celeste Wright, Joann Whitfield, Sherell Anderson (Frank), Zobra Johnson Hill; sons, Gibson (Judy) Wright, Larry Wright (Angela), Benjamin Wright, Lorenzo Davis; sister, Rosa Wright, Carrie Wright, Lou Wright; 36 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; childhood friend, Bishop Early Lee Brown; and a host of caring relatives and friends.

The Wright family received friends and the community 6-7:30 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Felix Coleman Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life 10 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022, (today) at the Felix Coleman Memorial Chapel, Hastings.
