Donald R. Miller

Donald Richard Miller, 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in Pomona Park. Donald served in Vietnam from March 6, 1968 to Feb. 23, 1970.

A loving father of Jason and Jennifer (Chad) Stephens. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Seth, Mercedes, Carter and Ava. Donald is predeceased by his parents, Richard and Helen Miller. Dear brother to Laura (Dan) Auriemma, Karen (Phil) Krapil, Roxanne (Ed) Gogola and Kristy (Pat) Scott. Donald will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Cremation has already taken place. A VA service will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood, IL 60421 on Friday, Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. The family would like to thank the hospice and especially thank Byron Butler and Ginger Haught for their care and compassion. They are forever in the family’s hearts.

Vivian E. Skaggs

Vivian Elizabeth Skaggs, 87, passed away at McGraw Center for Caring in Jacksonville late Tuesday evening on July 15, 2014.

Mrs. Skaggs was born in Dublin, Ga. and was a very active member of Howe Memorial United Methodist Church, working in the Thrift Shop and organizing the Bereavement Committee.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, William H. Skaggs Sr. of St. Augustine, a son, William H. Skaggs Jr. of Jensen Beach, daughter, Sandra Basse of Atlantic Beach, a sister, Margaret McQueen of Tennessee, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Howe Memorial United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 27 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Karl Wiggins officiating.

Arrangements are under the careful care of Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home, Crescent City.

Irene Ware

Irene Ware, 89, of Palatka, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at her home following an extended illness.

Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
