Earl D. Tyer

Earl D. Tyer, 80, passed away early Friday morning, Aug. 1, 2014 after an extended illness at Lakewood Nursing Center in Crescent City.

Born in Dade City, Mr. Tyer attended Stetson University in DeLand where he earned his bachelor’s degree and met his wife, Charlotte. He worked as a banker for Farm Credit in Dade City for many years. Later he worked as a real estate agent and a land developer until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and was a devout Baptist.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Charlotte Tyer of Crescent City; a son, Donald Tyer of Dade City; a daughter, Deborah Thomas of Crescent City and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Marie Thomas also of Crescent City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Cemetery.

Mr. Tyer’s family wishes to convey a special “Thank You” to the staff of Lakewood Nursing Center and Hospice of the Nature Coast for the tender care given to them and Mr. Tyer during his illness. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hospice of the Nature Coast, 927 South State Road 19, Palatka, FL 32177.

Arrangements are under the careful care of Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home Crescent City.

Joshua M. Foss

Joshua Mark Gene Foss, 34, of Palatka, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness.

Arrangements will be announced by Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
