A third contestant has entered the race to win an elected judicial position in this year’s election.

Earlier this month, Constance Daniels filed her paperwork to seek the Putnam County Court Judge Group 1 position, according to the Putnam County Supervisor of Elections Office. The race is nonpartisan.

Daniels will be facing off against Judge Anne Marie Gennusa, who was appointed to the position in 2023, and fellow challenger Alex Sharp. Whoever is elected will begin serving their first six-year term as a Putnam County judge.

Unlike candidates of other local election races who qualify in June, the judge candidates must qualify to continue running for office from April 22-26. This year’s primary is Aug. 20, and the general election is Nov. 5.
