The Patriot’s Pumpkin Patch

 hosted by American Legion Post 293 and

 Boy Scouts of America Troop 493

in Interlachen opens Sunday at the post, 145 S. County Road 315, Interlachen. 

11:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. 

Monday through Thursday;  11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday; 

and noon-7 p.m. Sunday.

 The pumpkin patch will also be open

 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Halloween, 

where there will be a Trunk or Treat 

and haunted house. The public is invited. 

Proceeds will help support local veterans and youth in Interlachen.

Palatka – 6-8 p.m. Palatka officials encourage parents, trick-or-treaters and people accompanying trick-or-treaters to use caution and care when crossing streets and trick-or-treating on private property.

 FALL FESTIVALS SCARECROW

 SATURDAY – College Park Baptist Church, 3435 Crill Ave. in Palatka is having its Fall Festival 10 a.m.-noon Saturday. Highlights include bounce houses, hay rides, puppet show, popcorn, snow cones and cupcake walks. The public is invited.

SATURDAY – Florahome Fall Heritage Festival, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Palmetto Park on the corner of State Road 100 and Magnolia Avenue. At least 50 vendors will sell their wares. Other highlights include music, vendors, chicken dinners, pork ribs, and hot dogs starting at 11 a.m. in an old Florida setting. All proceeds will benefit Palmetto Hall, the town’s historic clubhouse that will turn 100 in 2023.  The public is invited.

SATURDAY – The North Florida Folk Network Fall Folk Festival is 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday at the new outdoor pavilion at the Palatka Riverfront. Admission is free. The public is invited. Bleacher seating will be available or guests can bring lawn chairs or blankets. For details, email nffnpresident@gmail.com. Other highlights of the day include the River Sailboat Regatta put on by the Rat Island Yacht Club of Palatka, arts and craft vendors and food trucks. Pets on leashes are welcome. The entertainment lineup includes Linda Crider (11 a.m.), Middleground (noon), Old Dawgs New Trixx (1 p.m.), Bill Ricci (2 p.m.), Yael Retro Chic (3 p.m.), Quincy Allen Flint (4 p.m.) and Blossomin’ Bone (5 p.m.). Cosponsors of the festival are the Arts Council of Greater Palatka, Putnam County Tourist Development Council and Revitalize Historic Palatka. 

Additional supporters include Beck Auto Group, Douglas Law Firm, St. Johns Super Service Center, Azalea City Brewing Company, Velchoff’s Corner, MUV Dispensary and French’s Pool Service.

OCT. 22 – Francis Baptist Church, 155 County Road 309 C in Palatka will hold its annual Fall Festival 4-8 p.m. Oct. 22. The event is free. The public is invited.

OCT. 30 – St. James United Methodist Church, 400 Reid St. in Palatka will hold its Fall Festival 4:30-7 p.m. Oct. 30. Highlights include a bounce house, games, and lots of candy. This is a family-friendly event and the public is invited. Costumes are encouraged.

OCT. 31 – Beulah Baptist Church, 106 Beulah Church Road in Crescent City, will hold its Fall Festival 5-8 p.m. Oct. 31. Highlights include trunk-or-treat, kids’ rides, chili, chocolate and games. Admission is free. The public is invited. For details, call 904-806-2460.

 

HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR

OCT. 29 – Ravine Gardens State Park’s Halloween Spooktacular, 6-9 p.m. Oct. 29, at 1600 Twigg St. in Palatka.

Featuring games, music, face painting, treats, food trucks and a tour through the park’s spooky cabin. Tickets at gate are $5 cash only, exact change. Tickets are required for children ages 4 and up and free for kids 3 and younger. Food and face painting cost extra. Annual passes are not valid for Spooktacular. BOO ON THE AVENUE

OCT. 31 – Downtown Palatka’s Boo On The Avenue, 3 p.m. Oct. 31, between the 200 and 1100 block of St. Johns Ave. For ages up to sixth grade only. Any individual or business interested in handing out candy can call Sam Deputy at 386-983-4897.

 

KARAOKE AND COSTUME CONTEST

PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST

ENTRY DEADLINE: MONDAY – Arts Council of Greater Palatka’s No-Carve Pumpkin Decorating Contest is open to ages 6-12, 13-18 and adults 19 and older. Decorated pumpkins can be dropped off 5-6 p.m. Monday at the Larimer Arts Center, 216 Reid St. in Palatka. Winners will be announced Wednesday during Karaoke Night at the Larimer.

OCT. 22 – The 5th annual Jonathan Garcia’s Costumes For Kids free costume giveaway noon Oct. 22 at the Palatka riverfront, 100 Memorial Parkway in Palatka near the clock tower. The event will include a superhero meet and greet and is free to the public.

OCT. 31 – Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Trunk or Treat, Oct. 31, 6 p.m., corner of Central Avenue and Summit Street in Crescent City. Admission is free.

 

OCT. 31 – Palatka Police Department 7th annual Trunk or Treat, 5-8 p.m. Oct. 31 at the riverfront in Palatka. Local businesses are invited to participate by handing out candy. Application forms are due Saturday. Forms are available through Captain Matt Newcomb via email at mnewcomb@palatka-fl.gov. Business will have to provide their own candy to hand out. Applicants will also be required to provide a copy of a state issued identification card for background check. This must be turned in with participation form. HARVEST HOEDOWN

OCT. 29 – Living Hope Church in Florahome Harvest Hoedown is 5-9 p.m. Oct. 29 at 1109 State Road 100 in Florahome. Highlights include free food, music, lots of candy, carnival games, inflatables, dino den spinning ride, black light maze, and a two-story rock wall. Admission is free. The public is invited. ‘DAY OF THE DEAD FESTIVAL’

OCT. 29 – Crescent City Dia de Los Muertos “Day of the Dead Festival,” 4-8 p.m. Oct. 29 at Eva Lyon Park, 100 s. Summit St., Crescent City. Admission is free. CRESCENT CITY BOO CREW

OCT. 31 - Hop on a golf cart and be part of the “Boo Crew” starting at 3 p.m. The ride will start downtown on the east side of Central Avenue and city officials hope to get people in the spooky spirit before Trunk or Treat begins at 6 p.m. 

 

WELAKA

 

FALL MARKET 

OCT. 29 – The Woman’s Club of Welaka Fall Market is 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Woman’s Club of Welaka, 644 County Road 309 in Welaka. Cosponsor for the event is C-Gypsea Art. Highlights include vendors selling food, crafts, clothing, jewelry and other items, as well as live music, the LifeSouth Bloodmobile and lunches and baked goods prepared by the Woman’s Club members. Tickets are $10 for a chance to win a handmade pink flamingo quilt made by a club member to benefit Putnam First Cancer Fund. The drawing will be at 2 p.m. the quilt can be seen at gfwcwelaka.com. GOLF CART PARADE

Oct. 30 – The town’s golf cart parade and trick-or-treating event will begin at noon with the parade. It starts at Downtown Park and ends at Jefferson Smith Park. Golf cart decorations and rider costumes are encouraged. No alcohol is allowed during the parade or at the parks. Trick-or-treating at the park will immediately follow the parade. People who would like to hand out candy must bring their own, and they 


 

EAST PALATKA

FALL BASH PIRATE PARTY pirate ship

SATURDAY – Feed the Need of Putnam County 3rd annual Fall Bash Pirate Party, 7-11 p.m. Saturday at the Putnam County Shrine Club, 116 Yelvington Road in East Palatka. Highlights include live music, silent auction, 50/50 drawing, a photo booth and a Wine Pull Costume Contest. Admission is $40 per person. Proceeds go to Feed the Need locally who supplies backpacks full of food for needy children on weekends and holidays.
