A motorcycle crash on State Road 20 Thursday evening left a Michigan man critically injured after he lost control of his motorcycle, officials reported.

The 67-year-old man was driving westbound on State Road 20 around 6:45 p.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release, and his vision was “possibly obscured” due to glare from the sun. The incident reportedly occurred at State Road 20 and Wippletree Road.

Because of this, the agency said the motorcycle driver, who authorities say is from Hale, Michigan, lost control and exited the roadway to the left. The driver entered the center grass median, according to Highway Patrol.

He obtained serious injured, the agency said in its release Thursday night.

The motorcycle reportedly overturned after the driver separated from the motorcycle and came to a final rest “on its left side in the eastbound lanes facing,” Highway Patrol stated.
