All post offices in Putnam County are set to resume operations, including mail delivery, Thursday.

Most local post offices were closed Tuesday and Wednesday as a precaution against predicted weather conditions caused by Hurricane Dorian. With the storm no longer lingering off the Florida coast, postal authorities at the district office in Tampa have determined conditions are safe and service can begin again.

Mail carriers will have extra-large loads over the next couple of days as they attempt to deliver three days’ worth of mail to homes and businesses. Delivery of missed issues of the Palatka Daily News will be part of this process.
