Courier Journal publisher dies in car crash
Pomona Park resident Juliette Anne Laurie was killed in a car crash Friday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
Laurie was 46. She was a well-regarded businesswoman in Crescent City, editor and publisher of the Putnam County Courier Journal, a weekly newspaper operating out of Crescent City.
Laurie was traveling west on Old Welaka Road in South Putnam when at 5:04 p.m. she veered off the road and collided with several trees, according to FHP. She was taken to UF Health in Gainesville, where she was pronounced dead.
FHP said it is as yet unclear what caused Laurie's 2010 Nissan Versa to go off the road.
Additional information and funeral arrangements will be posted here as available, and in Tuesday's edition of the Palatka Daily News.
