ST. AUGUSTINE — A Palatka man was killed Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash with another Palatka resident in St. Johns County.

An Interlachen educator who paved the way for integration in the late 1960s was fondly remembered by family, superintendents and former students for her legacy.

Putnam County and city of Palatka authorities are investigating three fatal shootings that occurred between Sunday and Tuesday.

The city of Palatka may move a step closer to building a new Public Works facility at Thursday’s Palatka City Commission meeting.

The Putnam County Board of Commissioners has not yet wiped away biosolid concerns but instead has placed the topic on the board’s June 8 workshop agenda. 

The Putnam County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the 15-year comprehensive plan draft Tuesday, but it will need to be reviewed by state officials before being adopted. 

A camp with the aim of creating career-ready middle school students prepared to enter the workforce will occur early next month.

Tensions between Putnam County commissioners escalated Monday when the board met for its first budget workshop. 

Authorities on Monday confirmed an early-morning shooting that occurred on the north side of Palatka, leaving one person dead.
