Ada Geneva Grisham 

Ada Geneva Grisham, 86, passed away surrounded by her family Monday evening, July 8, 2019, at Putnam Community Medical Center.

“Snookie,” as she was known to her family and friends, was a lifetime resident of South Putnam County and was born to W.D. and Sarah Elizabeth King Mew. She was married to Neil Marsh Thorn and became the bookkeeper in their citrus, cattle and fern businesses. Neil passed away in 1984. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Snyder Mew Citrus Packing House and for Bill Pickens at NAPA. Later, she married Howard Grisham, a former District 1 County Commissioner, who died in 2010. Mrs. Grisham loved to talk politics and was a staunch Democrat. She enjoyed membership with Howe United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Marshaneal Hagstrom; son, Wilford Theodore “Teddy” Thorn; a sister, Iris Bolderick; grandchildren, Trace Thorn and Tucker Gaffney; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Grayson and Olivia Gaffney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2019, at Howe Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Larry Case officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home in Crescent City.
