Clifton B. Smiley
Clifton Bernard Smiley, 41, of St Augustine (Elwood Community), entered the sunset of life Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018.
The son of Alvin Smiley Sr. and Debbie Felton Smiley, he was a native of St. Augustine and was born Saturday, Sept. 25, 1976. He was educated in the St. Johns County School District at Allen D. Nease Senior High School. Clifton was employed as a lawn and landscape technician and was a heavy equipment operator. His hobbies included hunting and he was an avid football fan.
He was preceded in eternal rest by his brother, Alvin Eugene Smiley Jr., on Jan. 8, 2018.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Debbie Smiley of Jacksonville; father, Alvin Smiley Sr. of Elwood; son, Branden Smiley of Jacksonville; sisters, Latoya (Antonio) Woods of Jacksonville and Dyneco (George) Kittles of Atlanta; brother, Robbie Smiley of Dayton, Ohio; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Homegoing celebration will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at Congregational Holiness Church, 2079 State Road 16 W. in Green Cove Springs, with visitation 9-10 a.m. The Rev. James M. Sams, pastor of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in St. Augustine, will be officiating.
