Denise A. Turner
Denise A. “Nicey” Turner, 55, of Palatka, made a smooth transition from her earthly bed to her eternal resting place Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at her residence surrounded by her caring kids and loving grandchildren.
Denise was born Wednesday, Aug. 2, 1961, to the late Grady Howard and Marion Williams in Palatka. Denise was educated in the Putnam County School District and finished her education at Central Academy High School. She was a member of Jesus is the Way Ministry under the leadership of Pastor Errol Melendez. In her later years of attending Jesus is the Way Ministry, she was an ordained missionary. Denise enjoyed babysitting and raising her grandchildren. She love spending time with her family and eating crabs as often as she could. In the words of her granddaughter, “She will always be remembered for hitting our fence with the car.”
Nicey was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Maxie Turner, and grandmother, Jimmie Lee Wilson.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories her children, Obidiah (Veronica) McCaskill, Tiffany (Willie) Nelson, Antonio Howard, Travis (MonToya) Howard, Angela (Perry) Robbins, Irene Turner and Odessa (Ronnie) Smith; brother, Carton Dale Smith; aunts, Olivia Nelson, Claudia Johnson and Doris Williams; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and sorrowing friends.
The homegoing celebration will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 at Church of God by Faith, 1511 Washington St. in Palatka, Superintendent Phillip Thomas III, pastor. Viewing will be 5–7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 at Grace and Truth Deliverance Ministries, 700 N. 11th St. in Palatka, Apostle Cora B. Fells, pastor. Pastor Errol Melendez of Jesus is the Way Ministry is the eulogist. Burial will be in Pattersonville Cemetery.
