Irvin A. Stanley
Irvin A. Stanley, 73, of Palatka passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at his residence following a brief illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka. In his earlier years, he worked as a commercial fisherman. He later owned and operated Stan and Son Marine Construction, having built many docks and multiple homes. He was also a union carpenter. He was well known as a builder and shared many stories, but he was best known in his role as a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Romey and Ida Messer Stanley; three brothers, Ronnie Stanley, Henry Stanley and J.A. Stanley; and a sister, Roma Lee Strickland.
Surviving is his loving wife of 54 years, Sue Stanley of Palatka; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Mona Stanley of Palatka; two daughters and son-in-laws, Bobbi Jo Bohannon and Dennis Lee of Palatka and Billie Jo and Danny Yates of Palatka; a brother and sister-in-law, Theodore and Vera Stanley of Branford; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Private services will be at a later date.
