Marina Pichardo, 79, of Palatka, passed from this life Saturday, 29, 2018, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness.
She was a native of Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and lived in Palatka since 2016, coming from New York. She was a supporter of the March of Dimes and participated in their annual 18-mile walk-a-thon in New York City.
She is survived by her children, Arismendy Pichardo of New York and Lisa Perallon (Richard) of Palatka; daughter-in-law, Rina Pichardo; sisters, Gloria Velez (Julio) of Deltona and Lucilla Rottmayer (William) of Port St. Lucie; grandchildren, Dr. Lissette Pichardo and Arismendy Pichardo, both of New York; and great-grandchildren, Lucas Killeen and Phoenix Starr. She is also survived by Luis, Andrea, Luz, Lourdes, Angie, Maria, Miguelo, David, Frank and Ana Virginia, who thought of her as their second mother.
Mass of Christian burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2018, at St. Monica Catholic Church in Palatka with Father Pablo Fuentes as celebrant. Burial followed in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
