Thomas Ray “Tommy” Gore Jr., 47, of Palatka, went to be the Lord unexpectedly on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Putnam Community Medical Center.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka and attended Palatka High School. Tommy was a concrete mason and had worked 20 years with Mullis Concrete and prior to that with Westberry Masonry. He was a member of Palatka Baptist Temple. In his leisure time, Tommy enjoyed old time country music and was happiest when he was hunting and fishing. His daughters were his world and his wife was his everything. He was so silly and loved to make people laugh.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Ray Gore Sr.; and his father-in-law, Michael Futch.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 25 years, Julie Gore; his three daughters, Mikayla Ward (Trent), Macy Gore and Shelby Gore; his grandson, Cohen Ward; his mother, Belinda Gore; a sister, Kim Kirkland (Billy); a brother, Ben Gore; his mother-in-law, Carolyn Futch; three nieces and three nephews. He is also survived by some girls who were special to him, Marlee Glance, Alyssa Baumgardner and Madison Whisenant, as well as his best friend, Dean Mullis, who was like a brother.
Memorial services celebrating Tommy’s life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2019, at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor John Cameron officiating.. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
