College volleyball: Vikings finish 1-2 over weekend
The St. Johns River State College volleyball team went 1-2 in events held in South Florida this weekend.
On Friday, the Vikings lost to Hillsborough, 23-25, 32-30, 26-24, 25-13, then turned around and split a pair of matches on Saturday at State College of Florida, beating Palm Beach State in five sets, 23-25, 25-21, 25-17, 18-25, 15-11, but falling to the host team, 25-22, 25-16, 25-20.
In Friday’s loss, Kellsi Crow handed out 40 assists and had 22 digs, while Sara Bisbe, Siena Kelley and Kaedi Gillman recorded 13, 10 and nine kills, respectively with Kelly handing out five assists.
On Saturday, Kelley had 21 kills and 14 digs, Hanna Foecker added 11 kills, a service ace and 17 digs and Shannon Farley put up eight kills and 21 digs in the win. In the loss, Olivia Brady delivered eight kills and Kelley put down six kills.
The Vikings (5-16) travel to Gainesville on Thursday to take on Santa Fe at 7 p.m. in a Panhandle Conference matchup.
