Prep baseball: Palatka, Interlachen lose big

Three Keystone Heights players had four hits apiece in an 18-3 rout of Palatka in a District 5-5A game Friday at the Azalea Bowl.

The Indians scored 12 runs in the fourth inning.

The loss dropped Palatka to 5-11 overall and 0-6 in the district.

The Panthers’ Rhett Lamoreaux went 2-2 with a double, leading a five-hit Palatka offense that also included singles by Cody Mills, J.C. Conner and Blake Johns.

Keystone’s Gage Hall had a homer, a double and five RBI. The Indians totaled 18 hits in five innings.

n Visiting Jacksonville Episcopal struck for 10 runs in the first inning of a 12-1 beating of Interlachen in a District 2-4A game.

Logan Faulk doubled home the only run for the Rams, who fell to 7-5 overall and 1-2 in the district. The Eagles are 8-6 and 2-0.

Kyle McCole went 2-3 and scored the only Interlachen run. The Rams’ other hits were Faulk’s double and singles by Hagen Masciale, Kolby Fleming and Tyler White.
