Hundreds of families had fun in the snow during the second annual Snow Day on Friday in East Palatka.

The area recently received hundreds of thousands of dollars from the federal government to aid in the revitalization of the Putnam County Barge Port in Palatka.

There will be snow in Putnam County for the second year, as a popular winter event is set to make its return Friday.

Winter is coming, and the Palatka Daily News needs volunteers to transform a pocket of Putnam County into a snowy wonderland.

Snowballs flew across the Palatka riverfront as children in mittens and coats played Tuesday in piles of snow and slid down snow slides.
