Officials report one person dead after a crash Thursday evening just southwest of Palatka.
One person died and others, including a child, were seriously hurt Thursday evening in a collision that blocked traffic for hours, authorities said.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol’s crash and road condition report, the crash occurred shortly before 7 p.m. near the intersection of State Road 19 and East Pinellas Street just southwest of Palatka.
There was one confirmed fatality and “multiple trauma alerts,” according to a social media post from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, which has units at the crash site.
The number of people involved in the crash was not listed, but law enforcement officials said one of the trauma alerts was pediatric.
All lanes on S.R. 19 were still blocked at 10:30 p.m. Thursday. No other information about the crash was available by press time.
