Start making plans to celebrate America’s birthday.

Independence Day celebrations have already begun, with the Crescent City Yacht Club hosting Red, White & Boom last weekend. Vendors lined Summit Street as children played in bubbles, got their faces painted and rode an inflatable bull.

People dressed in their best red, white and blue outfits as a band played for the crowd and festival-goers snacked on food truck finds. The yacht club ended the evening with a fireworks display over Crescent Lake.

While Independence Day is not until Tuesday, there’s plenty to do in Putnam County starting this weekend.
