  • Plant-o-Rama at Ravine Gardens State Park, 1600 Twigg St. in Palatka, will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. People can learn more about gardening and plants. The event is free upon park entrance. 
  • The Palatka Railroad Preservation Society will host an open house 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to the Palatka railroad station, 220 N 11th St. The event is free. 
  • The Putnam County Historical Society meeting will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the historic St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 809 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka.  Presenter Cynthia O. Asia will speak about her experiences during segregation and the Civil Rights era in Putnam County.
  • Town of Interlachen Chili Cookoff will be hosted Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. at the Interlachen caboose, 312 Atlantic Ave. The event is free. 
  • Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church in Florahome, 309 S. Wahoo Ave. The guest speaker will be Minister Rundolph Porter of Gainesville He will present a program Sunday on Black History at 3:00 pm. The community is invited to attend.
  • Shirley Edwards of EMAGINE Arts will host an art show and reception commemorating Black History Month starting Monday and continuing through Feb. 24 at the Palatka library, 601 College Road. Special guests include Ron Stallings, author and historian of “Night Sanders on American Beach,” along with artists and their work, including quilter Targie Rhim and visual artists Laycett Brown and Eddie Roundtree. A reception will be from 2-5 p.m. Feb. 24. The public is invited.
