Weekly dementia care training available

 

Elder Options Savvy Caregiver Training is 9-11 a.m. each Wednesday through April 19 at Mt. Carmel Community Resource Center Inc., 400 E. Oak St.

Anyone who is caring for someone with dementia is invited to participate.

Daily News to publish summer camp listing

 

The Palatka Daily News will publish a summer camp listing of events that will be open to area children.

The listing is expected to publish in late May or early June.

Any area organization, church or club planning summer activities is invited to submit them for publication.

Be sure to include the name of the event, dates, times, address, location,  cost to participate and registration deadline.

The deadline to be included in the summer camp listing is May 26.

Email information to tmurphy@palatkadailynews.com or drop it by the office, 1825 St. Johns Ave., between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Be sure to mark it “summer camp listing” and include a contact person’s name and phone number.

 

CRESCENT CITY

Town to host Art Stroll & Sidewalk Mural Reveal

 

The Crescent City Art Stroll & Sidewalk Mural Reveal will be 4-8 p.m. Friday. Artists and musicians will line the sidewalks of Central Avenue for the town’s first event.

Participants can greet the local artists that created nine new sidewalk murals.  Beer & Wine Gardens will be on each side of Central Avenue and Kids Chalk Art Area will also featured.

Q.I. FFA alumni selling tickets to win half a hog

 

Q.I. Roberts FFA alumni and supporters are selling tickets for four lucky winners to win half a processed hog for their freezer.

The hogs were raised by students in the agricultural program at the school.

Tickets for the drawing cost $10 each or $20 for three. Tickets are available through FFA members or by calling Jackie Traxler, FFA alumni secretary, at 386-972-0264. The drawing will be Friday.

 

INTERLACHEN 

Music jam is today

The Traditional Harmony Pickers will be featured at a musical jam each Monday from 5-8:30 p.m. at the Interlachen Community Center, 135 S. County Road 315.

Highlights include music and a potluck dinner. Guests should bring a covered dish. For details, call Joni Conner at 954-812-8735.
