Palatka firefighters and Putnam Community Medical Center employees stand outside the Butler building conference room around 11:20 p.m. Friday. A Palatka Daily News employee smelled smoke in the air before being escorted off the property by a hospital security guard who didn’t give any details. He only instructed the Daily News employee to stop taking pictures of emergency responders.
