Putnam County residents and government officials showed up Friday to partake in the annual Florida Azalea Mayor’s Reception in Palatka.

Mayor Robbi Correa, who was sworn in for her first term less than two months ago, gave an address to thank everyone for attending. She pointed out how the city was chartered Jan. 18, 1853.

“Palatka is 170 years old this year,” she said. “We have such a rich, rich history.”

In addition to food and musical entertainment at the reception, there was also a presentation to the event’s sponsors.
