The Interlachen Junior-Senior High School JROTC Raiders and cadets are getting ready for a historical event.

For the first time in at least 18 years, the Interlachen Raiders will be hosting their first JROTC competition from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday at the Junior-Senior High School.

The event will be set up and operated by JROTC cadets and cadres from Crescent City, Interlachen and Palatka junior-senior high schools to emphasize cadet-led events.

This event will involve the JROTC Raiders from Interlachen, Palatka Raider Teams and 11 other schools from North Central Florida.

This grand event is possible because of the recent positive growth of the Interlachen Raider Program over the last two years with the help of former Raider Commander Aiden McPhadden and Senior Army instructor Lt. Cmdr. Korey Brown. The new Raider Commander C/CPT John Sanders has been working with the current Interlachen Raiders to get them ready for the competition, as well as continuing to improve the JROTC Cadet program.

Come on out and root for your Interlachen JROTC Raiders to support your Putnam County Raider teams and enjoy great barbecue from our vendors.
