The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is giving Palatka residents a heads-up about loud booms they might hear through Friday.
Deputies started explosive breaching training today on Horseman Club Road in Palatka. Training will continue throughout the workweek, officials said, so people in the area shouldn’t be alarmed if they hear loud noises until Friday.
“We just want them to know they’re normal,” sheriff’s office spokeswoman Allison Waters-Merritt said Tuesday. “They don’t need to call 911.”
People can expect to hear noises even during business hours, according to the agency’s social media post, but no one is in danger.
