An early morning crash in South Putnam today involving a school bus and sedan yielded no injuries, Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Around 6:45 a.m., according to the state agency, a school bus and a sedan were located at the intersection of Fort Gates Ferry Road and Mt. Royal Avenue in South Putnam. The bus backed up and collided with the front of the sedan while at the intersection, Highway Patrol stated. Both drivers were reportedly wearing seatbelts.

Following the collision, the agency said the sedan driver, an 18-year-old Crescent City woman, fled the scene of the crash. The sedan driver was later found and charged with “leaving the scene of a traffic crash involving property damage with no injuries,” the state agency said in a press release.

There were 12 students on the bus at the time of the crash, which was being driven by a 59-year-old Crescent City woman, according to Highway Patrol.
