SEVERE WEATHER ALERT UNTIL 2:15 p.m.

Putnam County is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 2:15 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. 

"Locations impacted include Palatka, Bunnell, Crescent City, Interlachen, Pomona Park, East
Palatka, Andalusia, Lake Delancy, Fruitland and Melrose Landing," the agency reports. 

Please seek shelter and stay away from the water, the weather service advises. 

"Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the
parent thunderstorm," the weather service says. "If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning."
