Questions of a suspected bridge jumper popped up this weekend, but authorities didn’t find a body.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office received two phone calls Saturday night from people who said they saw someone leaning over Memorial Bridge, sheriff's office spokeswoman Allison Waters-Merritt said Monday.

The calls came in around 10 p.m. and authorities responded to the area shortly after, looking in the direction callers described, she said. However, law enforcement officers and emergency medical services personnel soon ended the search.

Waters-Merritt said Sonar equipment did not pick up anyone in the St. Johns River near the bridge.

“If a person did jump, we did not locate a body,” she said Monday.
