Volunteers sought for Welaka cleanup event

Join the Friends of Welaka on one of the group’s quarterly town cleanup Saturday.

Meet fellow volunteers at 8 a.m. for pastries and coffee at the Welaka Town Hall pavilion, 400 Fourth Ave. Trash pickup begins 9 a.m. and the group plans to head down each street to collect roadside debris. More volunteers are needed.

Friends of Welaka recommends close-toed shoes and gloves.

“We are proud of our little town and want it to look its best,” the organization said on social media.
