Brenda Faye McCoy, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children at her Interlachen residence.

She was born on Wednesday, March 23, 1960, in Memphis, TN and had lived in Putnam County for most of her life. She was a former resident of Waverly, TN, and had resided in Crescent City, Satsuma, Florahome and in Interlachen for the past 30 years. Brenda was of the Baptist faith. She had a huge heart and would do anything she could do for anyone, including strangers.

Preceding her in death were her husbands, Stephen Longmire Sr. and James Blair; her parents, Luther Harrell McCoy and Peggy Lucille Fitzgerald McCoy; a brother, David McCoy; and two sisters, Darleen Jones and Debbie McCoy.

Left to cherish her memory are two brothers, Michael McCoy and Scott McCoy; one sister, Shirley McClannahan; one son, Stephen Longmire; two daughters, Stephanie McCoy and Jessie Blair; and three grandchildren, Bryce Epps, Stephen Longmire, III and Jeffrey Longmire.

On Saturday, November 19, 2022, a Celebration of Life will be held at Ravine State Gardens from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. with a service of remembrance at 1 p.m., which will provide guests an opportunity to speak and reminisce on the life of Brenda. Food and refreshments will be provided.
