Lawrence Curtis “Larry” Coleman Jr., 67, of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life, Tuesday, November 7, 2022, at HCA Florida Putnam Hospital.

The son of Lawrence Curtis Coleman Sr. and Mozelle Smith, he was born on Saturday, May 28, 1955, in Jersey City, NJ. He was educated at Lincoln High School in Jersey City, NJ and furthered his education at Jersey City State College.

Lawrence was an honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran, earning the National Defense Service and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals. He was a member of South Putnam Church, Crescent City. Larry served as a deacon, Mentor for Boyz 2 Men and was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars. Larry enjoyed being a Community Advocate and spending time with his family and friends. He was employed as a Long Distance Truck Driver for 30 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his sister, Linda Joyce Coleman.

He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Janice Delois Coleman;  daughters, Tonya Coleman, April Coleman; five grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; sisters, Francesca (George) Blackman, Elizabeth (Bill) Watson; sisters-in-law, Beverly (Alton) Wilson, Barbara Cooper, Amanda Cooper, and 2 others; aunts, Vera Wright, Alice Mae (Arzell) Diggs, Ella (Doyle) Thompson; uncles, Leonard (Johnnie Mae) Coleman, Harry Coleman, Ulysee Coleman; special nephews, Linwood (Tia) Small, Jr. , James Ward, Jr.; special cousins, Kent and Gail Coleman; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including: special friends, Elder George Jones, Jr., James Kubber, Gerald Watson,and Joe Jordan.

Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022, at South Putnam Church @ The Cube, 284 Union Ave, Crescent City, FL 32112. Pastor Daniel Jones is the eulogist.
