The community is mourning the death of Robin Kantner-Nordan, whose efforts have saved the lives of an estimated 28,000 animals. Kantner-Nordan passed away July 24 in St. Augustine.

Local organizers are making an effort to ease the pain for Putnam County students not ready for summer to end and the new school year to begin Aug. 10.
